Recent Stocking Of Fish

Recently we had a delivery of fish, including two large common carp, skimmers and some barbel.. hopefully, these fish will show in the coming months once they have settled in.

The Chairman's Trophy this year is for the largest witnessed common carp caught by a member. This will also entitle the winner to a reduced price membership for 2014.

If you catch any barbel this year please let any of the club officials know. We need to know how they thrive.

Match News

First Match Report.  Sunday March 10th 2013.
A very cold day, the water temperature was rising as the day went on, a full 3 degrees at 2 pm.  !
9 braved the weather and all sat out the full 5 hrs hoping for a raffle on prize money.
This was not to be !
1st) Trevor, Peg 34. sneaked 1 bite and landed it, a 10oz bream.
2nd) John D,Peg 1.  1 bite and landed it a 2oz Roach. Being generous calling it 2oz !
3rd) Alan C,  Peg 8.  1 bite at 10:45 missed it.
Only joking on the 3rd but I did have a bite, I just got over excited at the tip moving and struck like a plonker.
We know this is always a hard match unless we have an early Indian summer, and the water warms up a bit.
April 14th WILL BE BETTER. And expecting 12 to 15 entrants.

We are looking at a league format for matches, this year the winner takes all and estimate apx £50 as the prize.
We may tweak the points / scoring etc, Will explain at the next match and see if anybody has any ideas to improve.

Intro

Welcome to the Turton and Edgworth AS blog which will hopefully contain all the news you need about our club and the water. Please be patient until everything is up and running. For now here is a magical picture of the fishery at dusk. Can you work out which peg this was taken from?
